Although it's not really clear what Pixie might have been seeing or smelling, it's a fun story to hear! Thanks to these supposed skills, Peggy used Pixie in the tours and people enjoyed watching her in action. Pixie would go to certain spots and stand there, refusing to move, so Peggy would take a picture with the camera that she used to spot "ghost orbs", and without fail, there was always an orb where Pixie stood. They would take Pixie along with them and it was through these walks that they noticed her strange behavior. Her owners, Peggy and Bruce Schmidt, ran a business called Ghost Tours of America and had to take long walks around supposedly haunted areas for research. After some time, Shadow was able to gain back her normal personality, and Kristen gives Pixie all the credit.Īnother interesting dog by the name of Pixie is a Jack Russell Terrier who was known for ghost hunting. One day, Shadow disappeared for a while and Pixie was beside herself with anxiety, staying near the door until Shadow finally found her way home. Pixie followed Shadow everywhere, never leaving her side and provided endless distractions to keep Shadow moving. Thankfully, Pixie stepped up and did everything she could to console Shadow while her owner's struggled with the loss themselves. It was good that she did because their oldest dog, Hershey, soon passed away from quick-spreading bone cancer and everyone was devastated, including Hershey's lifelong companion, Shadow. The sweet pup stole her heart and Kristen had to bring her home. But just a short while later, Kristen stumbled upon a litter of Black Lab pups being sold and it was there that she laid eyes on Pixie. The little puppy that they picked out, however, sadly passed away the night before they were going to pick her up, and the family seemed to take that as a sign that a third dog just wasn't to be.
